Diabetic Eye Screening Drop-In Event, Saturday 7th October

The North of Tyne and Gateshead Diabetic Eye Screening Programme is hosting a mass screening event called ‘Screening Super Saturday’ on 7th October.

Any diabetic patients aged 12 or older who haven’t had an eye screening in the last year are invited to attend the event at Newcastle’s Centre for Life from 9 am to 4 pm.

You can also just turn up on the day, but recommend booking in recommended, especially if you require an interpreter, have mobility or hearing requirements or need a longer appointment time.

Who can come

Anyone who:

  • Has not attended or been invited to a diabetic eye screening appointment in the past year.
  • Is over the age of 12 and are registered with a GP in Newcastle, North of Tyne or Gateshead
  • Is coded as diabetic by us on your health record.

Please note you will not be able to drive after your screening appointment.

Getting There

The Centre for Life is located near Newcastle Central Station and is accessbile by car and public transport links.

You can use the interactive map below to get directions to drive, walk, cycle or by bus and Metro.

Time Square Care Park is just two minutes walk from Centre for Live, where parking is available from £1.60 per hour. Use postcode NE1 4AD in your SatNav or maps app.
